Corporate partner makes lifesaving kit purchase possible

CPR & defib kit purchased with support from Parker Hannifin

Our lifesaving CPR and defibrillator training kit has been boosted by the generous support of Parker Hannafin.

A generous donation from manufacturing company, Parker Hannifin, has funded the purchase of essential CPR and defib training equipment.

Thanks to a generous donation from Parker Hannifin, we’ve been able to significantly enhance our community CPR and defibrillator training equipment.

The new kit now includes:

  • Seven additional CPR training manikins, including advanced feedback manikins
  • Three training defibrillators (AEDs)
  • Two large roller transport bags
  • A dedicated transport suitcase for the new manikins

Why is this kit so important?

This donation is much more than just new equipment – it’s helping us reach more people, deliver better training and, ultimately, save more lives.

The new CPR manikins are equipped with technology that connects to an app, which provides real-time feedback on CPR performance. Participants can instantly see whether they are compressing at the correct depth and speed, helping them to build confidence and develop high-quality CPR skills. This means our training is not only more interactive but also more effective.

By increasing the number of manikins available, we can train larger groups at one time and ensure more people get hands-on practice rather than waiting for their turn. The more practice people receive, the more likely they are to act confidently in a real-life emergency.

The addition of three new training defibrillators means more participants can familiarise themselves with an AED during every session. Many people tell us they are worried about using a defibrillator because they fear doing something wrong. Through hands-on experience, we can show them just how simple these lifesaving devices are to use – open the box, switch it on, and follow the voice prompts. The defibrillator guides you through every step.

The new transport cases and roller bags are also a game changer. They make it much easier for our volunteers to move equipment to community venues across Devon, reducing the physical challenge of transporting the kit and enabling us to deliver sessions in even more locations.

Most importantly, this donation has allowed us to create an additional training kit while also strengthening the two kits we already use. This increases our capacity to deliver more sessions, train more people, and support more communities to become Ready to Respond when someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

Every additional person we train is another potential lifesaver in the community, and this equipment will help us continue growing that network of confident bystanders who know how to act when every second counts.
