We have so many exciting opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved in at our fundraising events.  Event volunteering is very ad hoc, doesn't require much commitment and is great fun!  We go to fetes, fairs, and county shows, as well as sporting events and festivals. This is a varied role providing 'hands on' help with setting up and packing down of event equipment, selling of merchandise and raffle tickets, and engaging with the public.

It's fun, its flexible around other commitments, and you're bound to make a new friend or two!

What will I be involved in?

  • assisting in the set up and pack down of event equipment
  • engaging with the public and talking about the work of the charity
  • promoting our merchandise and Summer raffle

Please note this role will require standing for long periods of time and will also involve lifting and carrying of equipment.

Volunteering is hugely rewarding and allows you to connect to your community and support others by raising important funds. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the people of Devon and help save lives! It’s a great way to give something back to your local community by sparing as little as one hour a week.

Volunteers are crucial in helping us create a welcoming, friendly and approachable stand for people to visit at events.  If you have great communication skills, the ability to get along with people and enjoy being part of a friendly team in a very sociable, supportive environment, we want to hear from you!

No experience is necessary as full training and an induction will be given.

When can I volunteer?

This is a flexible role to fit with your lifestyle and around other commitments. Whether you can offer one hour or one day, your time and support are hugely valuable. Most of the events we attend are on Saturdays and Sundays but some do fall on weekdays too!

What we can offer you?

  • Join a warm and friendly team of like-minded people
  • Full training and ongoing support to help you excel in your role
  • The chance to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills
  • Reasonable adjustments to make the role accessible for you
  • Reasonable out of pocket expenses in line with DAA guidance
