Quality donations make our work possible

Retail stories
Quality donations keep us responding

We are proud to stock a great range of different sizes and styles, so whether you are someone who likes to shop secondhand for ethical and sustainability reasons, a student or maker looking to bring creative flare and a new lease of life to a garment, or you are someone who is a fan of quality high-street favourites like Hobbs and Monsoon, then you can feel confident that by shopping with us for preloved clothes, you are bound to find something perfect while supporting a local lifesaving service.

The generosity of our incredible donors

It’s entirely thanks to generous charity clothing donations from Devon Air Ambulance supporters and local Devon people that our charity clothes collection is so rich and diverse.

Giving clothes to charity is an act of generosity that not only supports the service, but it also helps to prolong the life of clothing and reduces our dependency on fast fashion.

Garments selected for our eBay store are chosen for being in great condition and ready for the customer to buy. All our online clothing is listed with as much detail as possible to help customers to make an informed choice.

We are so grateful to those supporters who have chosen our charity as the one to donate to; were it not for their generosity we wouldn’t have such a fantastic range of clothing to meet the needs of our customers both online and on our high streets.

Do you have more than one winter coat?

Fashions change all too regularly, and that’s the good thing about charity shops; you’re bound to find something nearly new that has only recently been added. For example, how many winter coats do you think the typical fashionista has in their wardrobe when one year puffer jackets are de rigueur, and the next it’s grown-up camel coats?

If you have managed to gain more winter coats and jackets than you can possibly wear in one lifetime, then why not donate one or more of your winter coats to charity?

Used clothes for donation are typically in great condition and we are proud to stock some incredible pieces – some of which have barely been worn and are great quality too.

What happens to clothes donated to charity?

Our careful rotation system ensures we give every garment which is good enough for us to sell the maximum opportunity to be discovered by its new owner.

Clothing that doesn’t sell from here after the maximum time heads off to our Exmouth ‘Outlet’ shop to be sold at a reduced rate. We try to stop as much stock as possible being sent to be recycled – even going as far as to redirect garments we would typically be unable to sell (perhaps due to a small blemish or missing button) to our Mishap Fashion range stocked in several of our stores.

What kind of clothes can you donate?

We welcome all manner of garments and accessories as we know that your once-loved item is someone else’s next perfect purchase! So please do donate clothes and shoes to charity by popping into your local Devon Air Ambulance charity shop – if you’re lucky enough to live in Devon.
