Heli Hikers braved the weather to raise tens of thousands in support of our service.
Our new fundraising event brings in tens of thousands in support of our service
We’re very grateful to everyone who donned their hiking gear and joined us in Plymouth for our 14-mile and 26-mile hiking challenges last Saturday.
Sponsorship – so far – has brought in over £42,000!
This was our first time organising a walking event of this scale and we’re delighted that so many walkers joined us, despite the murky weather and early-morning chill!
This level of fundraising will have a huge impact on thousands of missions we attend every year, the equipment and drugs we need to purchase and, ultimately, the lives we save.
We are so grateful for the enthusiastic support as well as that of all the volunteers who traveled from across Devon to support the event.
Thanks to everyone who made it possible
A great deal of organisation goes into an event like this and we are very grateful to the local people and organisations who stepped up to help make the Hike the enjoyable occasion that it was.
Big thanks to the Rapid Relief catering team who replenished all of our walkers with tasty refreshments, Tier One for providing medical provisions, and not least, community initiative, Yealm Community Electric Transport Ferry: ferry operators kindly ran the service all day Saturday, shipping participants safely across the river!
Of course, we are also grateful to the local community for being so hospitable – even local farmers moved their herds to make for a safer route!
We look forward to sharing more events like this. In the meantime, visit our events page to discover fun fundraisers coming up!
