Devon Air Ambulance is a service that is there for the people of Devon and beyond. We are for anyone in the county, or when called upon to support neighbouring services, who are facing time-critical situations and need our help.

Ours is a service that is made possible by our amazing supporters. We have been operating for over 30 years and will be here for everyone who needs us in the future.

From an organisation of just three staff at its inception, we are today an employer of over 170 colleagues across our operations team, clinical team, retail and office teams, and we are fortunate to have over 650 amazing volunteers*.

A journey of inclusivity

Each of our hardworking and talented colleagues and volunteers brings a valuable range of life experience to their role. It’s important that every member of our organisation, paid or voluntary, feels recognised, listened to and supported, as an individual and in relation to their protected characteristics (Equality Act 2010).

For this reason, we have had an online and public presence at Pride in June, this year as we have historically. But supporting colleagues beyond Pride Month is an important part of fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.

That is why we ensure that good systems and structural practices are in place throughout the year, both to support those who make the service possible and to make Devon Air Ambulance a welcoming and inclusive organisation - for current colleagues and volunteers, and for anyone who would like to join us in supporting our lifesaving mission.

Though we are on a journey of inclusivity and we are learning all the time, we want to ensure we are the best we can be as a charity for everyone we serve as a broader organisation.

We will be sharing more information about our equality, diversity and inclusion activity soon.
