Salary: Salary range between £58,674.04 and £65,193.44 per annum, dependent on clinical qualifications and experience

The Role

The Operations Manager’s responsibilities include line managing Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs), Specialist Paramedic Critical Care (SPCCs), Advanced Paramedic Critical Care (APCCs) and HEMS Technical Crew Member Paramedic (HTCM-Ps) and assisting the Head of Operations and Head of Clinical Services in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of our service, training, simulation, competency assessment. They will also deputise for the Head of Operations in their absence. 

Working 50% of their working time operationally, the Operations Manager will manage/roster their own clinical and management time to enable the effective delivery of the role’s responsibilities, and supports/facilitates the rostering arrangements for the APPs, SPCCs, APCCs and HTCM-Ps. As an operational manager, the role will include working alone, sometimes as a solo clinician on a Critical Care Car.

1 year working in a Helicopter Emergency Medical Services is desirable.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to contextualise highly complex and highly sensitive information. By undertaking and supporting other staff in Quality Improvement, Research and Audit they will support the review and development of our service and through delivery of education and collaborative management they will ensure our clinical team are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led in their practice.

The Operations Manager will hold 3 years' experience in a patient contact role post Professional Registration, with evidence of continual CPD and associated learning relating to HEMS and/or the pre-hospital Critical Care environment.  Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence with a C1 entitlement and a maximum of 3 penalty points, alongside a level 3 certificate in Emergency Driving Response (CERAD) or accredited NHS blue light driving qualification.
