News Latest news Dog Show returns for second year at Royal Marines Commando Challenge Last year’s Royal Marines Commando Challenge was the dog show’s inaugural year and despite being a new addition to the event, the parade of proud pooches attracted support from a number of keen canine contenders and their owners. While entrants to the Commando Challenge shall be tackling many of the muddy obstacles on all fours across a 5k or 10k route, four-legged friends of all breeds will be entering the popular Dog Show at the Event Village on the Saturday in their own event, which is supported by Corner House Vets. With 10 categories to enter, there are plenty of opportunities for companion animals to bring the bow-wow factor and strut their stuff in the arena. This year’s categories include: Cutest puppy, Most adorable golden-oldie, Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest bitch, Best child handler, Best working dog or pet of a working breed, Best rescue, cross-bred or mongrel, Most impressive trick, Best matching or mismatching pair and the Fastest treat-eater race. Caroline Creer, a spokesperson for the Royal Marines Commando Challenge said: We’re delighted to welcome the return of the Dog Show in support of the Commando Challenge, which last year made an important difference to both charities. We’re pawsative that once again the Dog Show will be well supported and we encourage as many entrants as possible to get involved. Howl they get on? Come along to the Commando Challenge Events Village on Saturday 12th October to find out. There’s still time to sign up to the Commando Challenge itself as an individual or as part of a team by visiting the Commando Challenge website.
