News 3 nominees for North Devon Voluntary Services Award To celebrate the valuable contribution volunteers make to our communities, the North Devon Voluntary Service (NDVS) is asking organisations, groups, clubs, charities and communities to nominate volunteers who deserve particular recognition. This year there is a special award for Young Volunteer of the Year, which is sponsored by the Cedars Inn. This award is for young people aged 21 and under who are passionate about a cause and have gone above and beyond to support this. With so many generous and dedicated volunteers supporting us, it was a very difficult decision to reach, but we have put forward three volunteers from North Devon One nominee is from the Bideford Shop, a second from our Barnstaple Shop, and our young volunteer is from our South Molton shop. The latter two and our Volunteers Manager, Cara Jones, will be attending the Awards Evening on 7th June at the Cedars Inn. Volunteer, Tony Cannon (pictured above), was also nominated for the Devon Voluntary Action award, which recognises him as a valued volunteer who has donated his time and energy to Devon Air Ambulance over several years. His contribution will be shared on the DeVA website, Facebook and Twitter Volunteers' Week Celebration pages. A huge thank you to the 530 plus volunteers (at the time of writing) who lend us their time and skills, which make an invaluable contribution to local communities and to the charity.
