Norton Place is an independent living development of flats and bungalows for adults with a learning disability.

The walk from Exmouth to Topsham will be about 7 miles, which is a significant challenge for those that have leg issues and injuries, but there is on-hand support from the two affordable wheelchairs rented from the British Red Cross in case anyone struggles during the walk.

In 2008 Norton Place held an open day to raise money for Devon Air Ambulance as we were their nominated charity for the year. They raised a fantastic £250 thanks to auctioning goods that were generously donated by Devon businesses.

This year Norton Place has once more nominated Devon Air Ambulance Trust as their charity in the hopes of matching their 2008 total and we are very grateful for their ongoing support.

Local businesses getting behind local supporters

We're also delighted that local businesses like MPS Windows have been so generous in their support of the ambitious fundraiser. The company's £250 donation inspired by Norton Place's walk already means they have met their desired target. On the JustGiving page there is a note from an anonymous donor who says:

Well done for embarking on this challenge to raise money. Good luck and enjoy! As an eternally grateful recipient of the Devon Air Ambulance service it’s such a worthy cause.

A big thanks from us to everyone who supports the service that is very much by and for the people of Devon.
