Would you like to own a limited edition hand carved/painted Devon Air Ambulance model? Retailing at just £350, Devon based Bravo Delta Models are donating the entire profit of £130 for each of the models they sell. They are available via their website here.

Bravo Delta Models Limited is headquartered at Witheridge where the family firm markets around 100 hand-crafted wooden aircraft, helicopters and ships, offering customised models bearing the exact livery and registration number.

Detail is everything

Each of the models are hand-crafted from sustainably sourced, kiln-dried mahogany and all are hand painted with the detailing on both Devon Air Ambulance versions featuring the aircraft's grab handles, aerials, skids, lights and even the Devon flag on the nose of the aircraft.

Oli Martin, the marketing and web sales director of Bravo Delta Models said:

DAA is very important to us as our home and place of work is in Witheridge in the centre of Devon and about equidistant from the main hospitals in Exeter and Barnstaple. All the village supports the fantastic work of the DAA and we now have our own community landing site, which is a great comfort to us as it can take a long time to get to hospital by road.

We thought the DAA with its brilliantly vibrant colours would make a great model and provides us with an opportunity to make a gesture of support by raising some funds.

We will also plan to produce a model of the larger Airbus H145 which the DAA has purchased with plans for it to go into service later this year.

Caroline Creer, DAA Fundraising Director, said:

The quality of these models is fantastic and we are grateful to Oli and his family for their support. You can buy models of both our helicopters - G-DVAA & G-DAAN – and each comes with a base that you can have personalised. We think they will be very popular.

A generous community gesture

Models made by Bravo Delta include early pioneers of flight such as the Sopwith Camel and Tiger Moth, World War II icons, the Lancaster and Spitfire, modern day fighters like the Eurofighter Typhoon and the F-35 as well as the ever popular Concorde and Red Arrows.

Many of the models are bespoke contracts from defence manufacturers, airlines and from newly qualified pilots. Others are sold to aviation enthusiasts, but now the company has found a new market in people who have been helped in some way by the Devon Air Ambulance.

We are very fortunate to be well-supported by individuals and businesses in the communities we serve. Do you have a fundraising idea you'd like to tell us about? We'd love to hear from you and to celebrate your activity, skills and creativity.
