Devon Air Ambulance Trust is delighted to be reopening their Heavitree, Exeter charity shop on Saturday 6 December at 10am.

Devon Air Ambulance Charity seeks new donations for burgled shop

Staff at Devon Air Ambulance Trust were left distressed and angry after the charity’s retail shop in Cowick Street, Exeter, was burgled on Monday evening.

Thieves got away with a collection box having caused significant damage to the premises including smashing the shop window.

Martin Bell, Retail Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “I was extremely distressed and angry to receive a telephone call to advise me that our shop in Cowick Street, St Thomas, Exeter was broken into over-night on Monday 27 October.

Successful day for Dragons on the Exe - 2014

Devon Air Ambulance Trust was delighted to host their first Dragon Boat Festival on the River Exe on Saturday 27 September with 9 teams competing to be become top dragon!

Businesses/teams taking part were Alcoa, Crisp Professional Development, Francis Clark, The Old Guys, RD&E Hospital (Wonford, Exeter) and South West Highways.

Volunteer Sue Miller, a 27 year old mother of three from Tavistock, began volunteering for  DAAT a year ago but has been aware of the service since she was involved in a car crash with her mother as a child.  She gives talks, handles cheque presentations and attends events. She said: “Devon Air Ambulance saved my mum’s life. You can never repay a life.  I enjoy volunteering and meeting people but most of all I enjoy getting the message across."

Celebrating real people volunteering during National Volunteer Week

Volunteers form an essential part of any charity and with Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) that’s no different. In fact we simply couldn’t function without the 400+ lifesavers who give up their time so freely and generously either on a regular or occasional basis.

DAAT currently has over 400 volunteers performing a wide range of tasks from servicing the 4500+ red collection boxes across the county and helping in the Charity’s 13 shops to giving talks, helping at events, driving, to administration tasks at its offices.
