Tom Backhouse walks wild for Devon Air Ambulance

Throughout 2017 our supporter Tom Backhouse will be walking the length of the 15 UK National Parks to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance. Tom was inspired to fundraise for Devon Air Ambulance after his sister Kate was airlifted in 2016.

In Tom's own words:

The past 12 months has been one of changing perspectives. Difficult times personally and professionally culminated in learning things about myself and what makes me feel fulfilled and successful. Growing up, if you were to ask me what the benefits of owning your business were, I would of very likely replied 'power and money', however,...

With that in mind, here are our 5 tips to take better firework photos!

You might want to leave your antique 1900s camera at home.

BBC Casualty 30th anniversary episode

Posted by on August 27th 2016 in General charity, General discussion

Tonight BBC One’s popular medical drama ‘Casualty’ will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special feature length edition.  This programme will show an air ambulance crashing into the emergency department after a drone hits the tail rotor.

The scenes/storyline are of course produced for dramatic effect. However, Devon Air Ambulance is very aware of the increase in the popularity and use of drones. This increase is a concern for the aviation industry as some people may be unaware of the rules regarding the flying of drones or, in some cases, ignoring them completely. Drones should never be flown near another aircraft,...

5 Safety Tips for Motorbike Riders

The Ride Out will start from Trago Mills in Newton Abbot and cover around 80 miles of beautiful Devon countryside, before finishing in Dawlish Warren with an afternoon of live entertainment.

Will writing services

Posted by on December 29th 2015 in General charity, General discussion

We have recently received calls from members of the public and supporters about a team of ‘Air Ambulance’ canvassers operating in the Devon area. These canvassers are offering a will writing service in exchange for a charitable donation.  Some callers were under the impression that they had made a donation to Devon Air Ambulance. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that these canvassers do not represent Devon Air Ambulance Trust nor will any charitable donation be received by us.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust is proud to be a member of the Fundraising Standards Board meaning we have made...
