50 Classic Cars tour Plympton to Yelverton in support of Devon Air Ambulance

A procession of more than 50 classic cars will tour a 100 mile route from Plympton to Yelverton in support of Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) on Sunday 18th September.

Organised by the Tamar Valley MG Owners Club, the ‘People & Places’ Classic Car Run 2016 is free for spectators and is a major event for the classic car calendar with a fantastic selection of MGs and other classics in attendance.

Over £2,000 raised for Devon Air Ambulance 12 years after aircraft crash

Former patient and long-standing supporter Alan Gill and his wife Jennifer raised over £2,000 for Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) with an Open Day in the Barn as a joint celebration of Alan’s 75th birthday and Alan and Jennifer’s 5th wedding anniversary.

On Saturday 30th July 2016 Alan and Jennifer opened their barn to friends and family and raised an incredible £1,961.89. The event saw a terrific turn out with over 200 guests, including from as far as Doncaster and Essex. DAA are also awaiting the Gift Aid donation from HMRC which was made on some of the day’s donations...

Devon Revolution 24 hour 300 mile cycle for Devon Air Ambulance

Due to bad weather in August 2016 the team were unable to complete the challenge, they will be reattempting on the 12th August 2017. Fingers crossed for better weather!

Devon Revolution, a team of four, will cycle an impressive 300 miles around the Devon border in 24 hours to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance (DAA). The team will set off from Seaton sea front at 5pm on Friday 19th August and will cycle continuously throughout the night before returning to their start point at 5pm on Saturday 20th August.

Over 900 motorcycles make Devon Air Ambulance's annual Ride Out a roaring success

The 11th annual Motorcycle Ride Out in aid of Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) took place on Sunday 10th July with near on 1,000 motorbikes.

The motorcyclists, which included a variety of classics, sports, cruisers, touring and trikes, set off from Trago Mills, Newton Abbot, at 10:30 and followed a 90 mile route through Devon, passing through local towns and villages including Moretonhampstead, Okehampton, Cheriton Bishop and Dunsford before heading back via the A380 to Kingsteignton, Teignmouth and ending at Dawlish Warren. Residents along the route came out to show their support and watch the convoy of motorcycles.

Last chance to buy tickets for the Glitter and Gold Charity Ball in aid of Devon Air Ambulance

The last few tickets for the Glitter and Gold Charity Ball are on sale now for just £25. Raising funds for both Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) and the Multiple Sclerosis Society the Ball will be held at the Buckland Athletic FC in Kingskerswell on Saturday 9th July.

Doors open at 7:30pm and guests are requested to dress in formal attire with a hint of glitter and gold. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by one of South Devon’s top cover bands, Raspberry Fish, who will perform a varied bill from rock to punk and disco to funk.

Only three weeks until Devon Air Ambulance's much anticipated Motorcycle Ride Out

Devon Air Ambulance’s (DAA) Motorcycle Ride Out returns for its 11th year on Sunday 10th July 2016. This event is one of the great annual events in the bikers' calendar; not only does it bring together the riding community of Devon but it is also a great way for bikers to support DAA.

5 Safety Tips for Motorbike Riders

We can’t wait for our annual DAA Motorcycle Ride Out on Sunday 10th July, which is a great way for bikers to celebrate the Devon countryside and support the charity at the same time. The Ride Out will start from Trago Mills in Newton Abbot and cover around 80 miles of beautiful Devon countryside, before finishing in Dawlish Warren with an afternoon of live entertainment.

Unfortunately, while biking is great fun, there’s always a small chance of things going wrong. The Devon Air Ambulance comes to the aid of bikers throughout Devon – we attended 42 accidents involving motorcyclists in 2015...

Sunshine and success for Sea Swim - 2016

On Sunday 5th June 2016 43 swimmers took part in Devon Air Ambulance’s (DAA) annual One Mile Sea Swim. Following a safety briefing from Brendon Prince, Chairman of the Torbay Surf Life Saving Club swimmers set off from Broadsands beach, Paignton, at 2pm.

With calm conditions and a sea temperature of over 13 degrees swimmers were guided on the one mile route to Goodrington by members of the Torbay Surf Life Saving Club, with the fastest swimmer completing the swim in just 27minutes and 15seconds. For all swim times please see bottom of article.
