Last chance to buy tickets for the Glitter and Gold Charity Ball in aid of Devon Air Ambulance

The last few tickets for the Glitter and Gold Charity Ball are on sale now for just £25. Raising funds for both Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) and the Multiple Sclerosis Society the Ball will be held at the Buckland Athletic FC in Kingskerswell on Saturday 9th July.

Doors open at 7:30pm and guests are requested to dress in formal attire with a hint of glitter and gold. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by one of South Devon’s top cover bands, Raspberry Fish, who will perform a varied bill from rock to punk and disco to funk.

Only three weeks until Devon Air Ambulance's much anticipated Motorcycle Ride Out

Devon Air Ambulance’s (DAA) Motorcycle Ride Out returns for its 11th year on Sunday 10th July 2016. This event is one of the great annual events in the bikers' calendar; not only does it bring together the riding community of Devon but it is also a great way for bikers to support DAA.

The Ride Out will start at Trago Mills, Newton Abbot, from where the motorbikes will form a procession and follow a route of approximately 85 miles through the stunning Devon countryside before reaching the end destination of Dawlish Warren where DAA will host an Afternoon of Live Entertainment; complete with refreshments,...

5 Safety Tips for Motorbike Riders

We can’t wait for our annual DAA Motorcycle Ride Out on Sunday 10th July, which is a great way for bikers to celebrate the Devon countryside and support the charity at the same time. The Ride Out will start from Trago Mills in Newton Abbot and cover around 80 miles of beautiful Devon countryside, before finishing in Dawlish Warren with an afternoon of live entertainment.

Unfortunately, while biking is great fun, there’s always a small chance of things going wrong. The Devon Air Ambulance comes to the aid of bikers throughout Devon – we attended 42 accidents involving motorcyclists in 2015...

Sunshine and success for Sea Swim - 2016

On Sunday 5th June 2016 43 swimmers took part in Devon Air Ambulance’s (DAA) annual One Mile Sea Swim. Following a safety briefing from Brendon Prince, Chairman of the Torbay Surf Life Saving Club swimmers set off from Broadsands beach, Paignton, at 2pm.

With calm conditions and a sea temperature of over 13 degrees swimmers were guided on the one mile route to Goodrington by members of the Torbay Surf Life Saving Club, with the fastest swimmer completing the swim in just 27minutes and 15seconds. For all swim times please see bottom of article.

On Friday 1st July Former Glory Furniture will celebrate their first year of business with an auction in support of Devon Air Ambulance. The auction will be led by celebrity auctioneer, BBC Antiques Roadshow Expert, Marc Allum and will be held at the company property in Totnes.

The Lyn Valley Classic Car Event returns this summer and is set to be the biggest and best yet, and once again will support Devon Air Ambulance. Following the success of last year’s event the organisers have grown the event for this year from a one day car show to be preceded with fantastic live music on the Saturday night.

Greenbow Running Club take on Devonâ??s Coast to Coast in support of Devon Air Ambulance

Exeter’s Greenbow Running Club will take on a Devon Coast to Coast run from Westward Ho! to Dawlish Warren on 25th June 2016 in support of Devon Air Ambulance. The event will see the runners complete a 52 mile route through stunning Devon.

20 runners will take part in a relay, with five set of runners each covering 10.4miles and a minimum of 2 runners running at any time. Less than two weeks until Devon Air Ambulance's annual One Mile Sea Swim but it's not too late to register

 

On Sunday 5th June 2016 Devon Air Ambulance’s annual One Mile Sea Swim returns to Paignton and there is still time for participants to register. The swim will start at 2pm and registration will be open from 12:30pm on the day.

This is the sixth year Devon Air Ambulance has organised this successful event in conjunction with Torbay Surf Life Saving Club and the event is looking set to be a fantastic day with over 50 swimmers already registered.

Are you ready for the challenge? Take on the Heartswell 100 cycle challenge and support Devon Air Ambulance

The Heartswell 100 cycling event will take place on Sunday 5th June, setting off from Plymouth, and is open to cyclists of all abilities with the option to support Devon Air Ambulance.

Organised by Plymouth based heart charity Heartswell, the Heartswell 100 cycling event provides two cycling routes, 50km and 100km, that take you through some of Devon’s most stunning countryside.

This cycling event is a fun charity bike ride and whilst it has been established to raise funds to help heart patients and their families in the South West, Heartswell have kindly opened up the event for cyclists...
