Why do charities network?

Posted by on May 2nd 2014 in business on board

We were recently asked by a member of the public why the Charity attended business networking events, especially those that might cost money to attend. It got us thinking as, although we know and recognise the benefits, we realise we haven’t shared them with you. What a great topic to do our next blog on!

There are many professional and business networking breakfasts, lunches and events in and around Devon. We regularly attend just a few but actually they are an essential part of our development strategy.

For example, we have been one of four regular charity members of...

Posted by on February 25th 2014 in business on board, Charity of the year, Events, Fundraising

The Teignmouth branch of HSBC is proud to announce that Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) is their chosen charity of the year, for the second year in a row.  Whilst all staff recognise that Devon's Air Ambulances are crucial for the county, one particular lady has an even greater reason to show her support.

Emma Oxley, who has worked at the Teignmouth branch of HSBC for 28 years, is a keen horse rider and has ridden the hills and dales of Devon for many years.  Things didn’t quite go to plan, however, on 21st June 2012.

Emma was riding with friends in...

Kidz First Aid support

Guest blogger:  Katie Finn, Kidz First Aid

I am a paediatric nurse and after many enjoyable years of working in Paediatric A&E settings I realised that first aid information specific to children’s emergency procedures is not easily obtainable for parents so I decided to go it alone and set up Kidz First Aid. My aim is to give parents peace of mind and confidence, so they know what to do if things go wrong.

To spread the word of my courses I decided to exhibit at a baby fair but felt I needed to have a product on offer...

Why I got involved with Devon Air Ambulance Trust

Posted by on March 5th 2013 in business on board

When I was asked to write a blog for Devon Air Ambulance I decided to take some time to think about the charity and why working with them is so important to me.

As a freelance designer I rarely have the luxury of picking and choosing my customers, but I have to say I am in the fortunate position of genuinely “liking” all of my clients and Devon Air Ambulance is at the top of that list. Not only are they an inspiring group of people to work with, the charity itself provides an essential service for our beautiful...

Working together

Very often we attend the scene of accidents along Devon’s roads and motorways and often work closely with...
