Leading underfloor heating and renewables supplier, Honiton-based Nu-Heat, is marking its silver anniversary by supporting a life-saving local charity also marking 25 years, Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

Growing from a very small team of just 5 employees in 1992, Nu-Heat now employs over 100 dedicated people and has designed and supplied tailored, award-winning underfloor heating and renewables solutions for over 70,000 homes nationwide.  A company with people at its heart, Nu-Heat is the only heating supplier to be awarded a Distinction from the Institute of Customer Service.

Popular attraction supports Devon Air Ambulance

Popular family attraction, World of Country Life, Exmouth, has shown their support for their local Air Ambulance by sponsoring a supply of brand new stands for the charity’s magazine Helipad. 

It costs Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) £5.5million each year to keep the two helicopters flying and the charity relies entirely on the funds being raised by the people, communities and businesses of Devon. The support from World of Country Life has been gratefully received.

Virtual reality expert gifts Air Ambulance 360 degree tour

A businessman who specialises in virtual reality (VR) walk-throughs for property sales has used his state-of the-art technology to create a virtual tour of Devon Air Ambulance’s (DAA) emergency helicopter and hangar at the charity’s Eaglescott air base.

Noel Sexton who runs based Somerset based View It 360 providing VR Solutions for businesses from London to Truro, has donated the VR tour to thank DAA for the role in getting his new born son Callum to hospital after he suffered severe breathing difficulties and was turning blue.

Otter Nursery support Devon Air Ambulance as charity of the year

Otter Garden Centres in Ottery St Mary, Plymouth and Torbay have joined forces for the first time to support Devon Air Ambulance during 2017.

The three Devon garden centres usually have their own charity but decided to make a concerted effort this year to raise a substantial sum for this crucial service, which is marking its 25th anniversary.

Helpful Holidays raise over £10,000 for Devon Air Ambulance from a year of fundraising

The award-winning West Country cottage specialists, Helpful Holidays, raised an incredible £10,581.28 throughout 2016 for Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) as their chosen Charity of the Year.

Over £8,500 of the funds were raised by Helpful Holidays customers, prompted by Helpful Holidays as an optional donation, when making their holiday booking.

In addition, Helpful Holidays raised further funds through a charity Cricket Match held at Chagford Cricket Club in the summer of 2016, in which DAA employees Dave Hawes and Afnan Tellesy competed against the Helpful Holiday team.

Devon Air Ambulance are delighted to be chosen as n-ergy's South West Region Charity of the Year

Earlier this year n-ergy’s regional team in the South West nominated Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) to be one of n-ergy’s three selected charities of the year for 2016/17.

n-ergy delivers over 3,000 vocational and employability programmes annually to both offenders and ex-offenders in prisons across England and Wales and over the last 9 years have built a reputation as specialists within the offender reform sector. Air Ambulance challenges Devon businesses to tame the dragons

Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) is to hold its third Dragon Boat Festival on the River Exe on Sunday 25 September and is calling on businesses across the county to enter this colourful and exciting team event.

Boats with their traditional Chinese dragon mastheads hold 16-18 kayak-style paddlers, plus a helmsman to steer and a drummer to pace the crew.  They race in heats along the spectator-friendly Exeter Quayside until two are left to compete in the final.

The partners at Tozers decided to nominate DAAT as their chosen charity back in 2014, not least because one of them had been previously airlifted as a result of an equestrian accident. On rare occasions we are able to get some of our patients, outstanding fundraisers and volunteers together to visit our airbases and learn more about the service they have needed to use, or are supporting in some way. Due to patient confidentiality, we don't know who we airlift, so when our patients get in touch, we are fortunately able to offer them a visit to see the helicopter and meet the crew under far more controlled conditions.
