Totnes shop needs stock for opening

The new Devon Air Ambulance charity shop is getting ready to open on Saturday 15 November but now needs additional stock.  Can you help?

Manager Kirsty Whitaker says “We’re delighted with the shop and it’s great to see it coming together.  However we are now in need of additional stock to make sure the shelves are full in readiness for our opening in two weeks.”

She added “We’re at the shop now from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday until the opening. If you do have items you would like to donate, we’d love to see you.”

Devon Air Ambulance Charity seeks new donations for burgled shop

Staff at Devon Air Ambulance Trust were left distressed and angry after the charity’s retail shop in Cowick Street, Exeter, was burgled on Monday evening.

Thieves got away with a collection box having caused significant damage to the premises including smashing the shop window.

Martin Bell, Retail Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “I was extremely distressed and angry to receive a telephone call to advise me that our shop in Cowick Street, St Thomas, Exeter was broken into over-night on Monday 27 October.

There is much excitement in Fore Street, Totnes, as Devon Air Ambulance Trust prepares to open their 15th shop!

Successful day for Dragons on the Exe - 2014

Devon Air Ambulance Trust was delighted to host their first Dragon Boat Festival on the River Exe on Saturday 27 September with 9 teams competing to be become top dragon!

Businesses/teams taking part were Alcoa, Crisp Professional Development, Francis Clark, The Old Guys, RD&E Hospital (Wonford, Exeter) and South West Highways.

?The statistics below relate to 1 January to 30 June 2014, as prepared by Nigel Hare, Operations Director for Devon Air Ambulance Trust

  • We have been deployed to 534 incidents and treated 431 patients
  • Trauma = 45%, Medical = 54%, Inter Hospital Transfers (IHT’s) 1%
  • The busiest hour of the day for us to be called out is between 2pm and 3pm
  • The busiest day of the week has been Sunday
  • 12% of patients were not accessible by road
  • 35% of patients have been female, 65% male
  • 12% of our patients were children under 18, 88% were adult
  • 24% of the patients we conveyed we did so bypassing...
