Calor Rob donates to Devon Air Ambulance Trust

Rob Woods of Calor is an award winning fundraiser.  His tireless charity work was recently recognised by his employer Calor Gas Ltd, when he was awarded the ‘Malcolm Beacham Memorial Charitable Award 2013’.

Flying Colours Art Exhibition Gives Back to the Community

The Flying Colours Art Group is holding a large exhibition of paintings with proceeds in part going to Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. Flying Colours consists of three groups of artists from Totnes, Bishopsteignton and Gorran Haven led by Totnes artist and tutor Gayan Oliver.

The art exhibition which promises an exquisite selection of paintings will take place from Tuesday 27 May through Sunday 8 June from 10am to 5pm daily at the picturesque Spanish Barn at Torre Abbey in Torquay. Admission is free.

Return of ‘Best of the West’s’ 60s Rock Band: Gil Jones and The Summits Reunion Event

Gil Jones and The Summits are reuniting after over 50 years for an anniversary “open gig event” combined with band member and rhythm guitarist, Chris Verney’s, 70th birthday bash! Gil and The Summits originate from Barnstaple and in the 60s were rated ‘Best of the West’.

Bridgerule Open Gardens open for Local Air Ambulances

Bridgerule Open Gardens offers a day filled with flora and fauna with proceeds shared equally between Devon Air Ambulance Trust and the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Eight Gardens will be open for viewing; three of them are new this year. Walking through the floral selection will be a feast for the eyes with a watermill and lakes that can be viewed alongside the perennials. 

Tea and coffee will be available at most gardens. Light lunches will also be available, along with cream teas from St Bridget’s Church and a cake stall from the Methodist chapel. Plants, produce, and preserves...

Jasper saves the day

Among the guests at a recent open day hosted by Devon Air Ambulance at their Eaglescott Airbase was Jasper, the beloved black labrador owned by Laura and Malcolm Thomas of Bridford, in the Teign Valley.
