Did you know that many of our pilots and our paramedics have an armed forces background?

Those with Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force experience bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is often wrought in some of the most challenging contexts imaginable.

Our patients can feel confident that they are being given expert care and attention as missions are carried out.

When is Armed Forces Day?

Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday of each June, but celebrations and events also occur in the run up across the country.

One of the purposes of the event is to provide a much-valued morale boost to troops and their families.

The Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that acknowledges and understands that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve. Devon Air Ambulance is proud to have been awarded a Bronze Covenant.

The covenant is fulfilled by central and local government, businesses of all sizes, communities and charities as well as other sectors, so as a charity and a forces-friendly employer, we pledge to support our armed forces.

Join in with #SaluteOurForces

#SaluteOurForces is a simple way for anyone to pay tribute to the British Armed Forces community for their hard work and their dedication.

Each year, celebrities, businesses and members of the public get involved by sharing a photo or video of themselves with friends or families saluting, along with the hashtag.

You can join in too by sharing your picture or video on Twitter, by tagging @ArmedForcesDay and using #SaluteOurForces.

Did you know that depending on which discipline of the armed forces you serve there is a different salute? Watch these videos to see the distinctions.
