Get involved Businesses on Board Agricultural Consultancy raises over £690 for Devon Air Ambulance The Thomas Westcott Accountants Agricultural Consultancy Service has presented Devon Air Ambulance with a cheque for £691.16. The donation brings the total raised for the charity over the last 15 years to £5,640.75. A rural response As part of the company's support for rural communities, the agricultural consultancy and sector team regularly attends agricultural shows across the South West, providing complimentary refreshments for people who visit the Thomas Westcott stand, as well as organising fun activities such as face painting for children. At each event they encourage people to donate much-needed cash to Devon Air Ambulance. Peter Brown, Director of Thomas Westcott’s Agricultural Consultancy Service, said: Devon Air Ambulance is a really important charity, particularly for people working in dangerous environments in agricultural and rural communities, including our farming clients. Accessing accident and emergency facilities via the road network is becoming increasingly difficult, so having that air lifeline is vital in ensuring - if the worst happens - that people can get the best level of care as quickly as possible. We know how much our clients appreciate the work carried out by the charity so as a firm we are delighted to support Devon Air Ambulance. Because of the charity's work keeping two emergency Air Ambulances flying to relieve injury and illness in and around the county of Devon it has been the Agricultural team’s charity of choice for many years. Community support In 2018 it cost £7.5 million to keep the service operational. This was only possible thanks to the support the charity received from Devon people, business and communities. Tracy Owen, Devon Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, said: We are extremely grateful to Thomas Westcott for their continued support and the significant amount of funds they have raised over the years. As Peter says, our service is much-needed in the agricultural community, as demonstrated in 2018 when we attended 29 agricultural-related trauma incidents. Thomas Westcott’s support helps us to continue to develop our service so that we can provide the best care possible to our patients. We look forward to continuing to support Thomas Westcott with their fundraising. Do you work for a business or organisation that you would like to involve in raising funds for Devon Air Ambulance?
