Experience Some Disney Magic on Fireworks Night

The year has flown by and it’s time once again for the Exeter Round Table Fireworks Display. We are very lucky to be supported by Devon’s largest pyro-musical display again this year and we are even more excited than ever at this year’s theme – Disney!

The event itself is more than just a fireworks display – it’s a full-on fairground! With a great range of food and drink stalls as well as a selection of thrilling rides.

Not only is it a great firework display but it’s a great cause to support too. The main charity being supported this year is Devon Air Ambulance, with other local good causes also benefitting.

Considering all this, the magic of Disney feels like a perfect fit for this dazzling yearly celebration and the idea has set our imaginations racing on which of our favourite childhood scores are going to make it into the big display. We are so excited in fact that we couldn’t manage the wait until the 5th of November to reacquaint ourselves with some of our most beloved classics! So, for our own enjoyment as much as yours, here’s our run down of our top five Disney songs to get us in the mood for bonfire night.

5. Colours of the Wind

The stirring anthem from 1995’s Pocahontas, hits all the right notes to get your hairs standing on end. Hollywood thought so too as the song won an Oscar for “Best Original Song” in the same year. The strong wonder-of-nature message, and themes of harmony and understanding, still feels relevant today too.

4. Hakuna Matata

Making it to number four is this enormously popular song from unlikely duo Timon and Puma, in which they teach young lion, Simba, to live his life with no worries. Frankly we could probably have happily put any and every song from The Lion King into our top picks but we think the carnival-like tone makes it a great match for the Exeter Round Table Fireworks Display.

3. A Whole New World

It’s another Oscar winner at number three with Aladdin’s A Whole New World. The song sees Aladdin and Jasmin deliver their romantic ballad from carpet-back while zipping around the world in wonder. The best bit is that we even get to see some fireworks at the end!

2. Beauty and the Beast (Tale as Old as Time)

We chose another heart melter for number two (sorry!) and another Oscar winner too. The titular Beauty and the Beast (also known as Tale as Old as Time) was performed for screen by Murder, She Wrote star Angela Lansbury as animated teapot, Mrs. Potts. It could well be the most iconic Disney song of all time!

1. Let It Go

The top spot goes to the new generation of Disney princesses, with Frozen’s Let It Go. We could make a strong case for a lot of Disney classics being the best of all time but if you’re looking for the biggest Disney song right now, then it must be this one. If you happen to have a sister, daughter or granddaughter under the age of ten then chances are she’s already got more than one Elsa costume in her wardrobe! If only she had somewhere to wear it…

Oh, that’s right, there’s a Fireworks display coming up! Perfect.

If watching all those videos has got you as excited for seeing the Disney magic on display this November then find out more and book your tickets right here. It’s set to be an amazing evening that you won’t want to miss. We’ll see you there!
