5 members of the Black Torrington Bicycle Club completed a 92-mile cycle in support of Devon Air Ambulance (DAA).
Team members John, Mary, Steve, Polly and Ian set off from Plymouth Hoe on Saturday 1st July 2017 and reached their destination of Ilfracombe in just 11 hours. The team raised £1257.32 in sponsorship with Gift Aid still to be claimed.
The team were supported by Sally and her horsebox George, providing refreshments and repairs on route, as well as transport the bicycles to the start and from the finish.
Thanks goes to Morrisons of Tavistock and Tescos of Braunton who provided the team with refreshments.
Sally said “We were very happy to donate to such a worthy charity as DAA and who knows, we may get the urge next year to up the ante and cycle both ways.”
DAA Fundraising Director Caroline Creer added “We are extremely grateful to the Black Torrington Bicycle Club for their support, they’ve raised a fantastic amount of funds through their sponsored cycle. We hope they enjoyed the challenge and we look forward to supporting them next year should they take on the challenge of a 200-mile cycle!”
