Each year, thanks to the artistic skills of the farm team at Darts Farm, an amazing Maize Maze is designed and created within their fields in Topsham and this year is no different! In celebration of the Devon Air Ambulance’s 25th Anniversary, a ‘propelling’ design has been cut into the field of maize and is now open to the public to enjoy.
Costing £1 per child, all of the money raised by the Maize Maze will be donated to DAA. Children can enjoy navigating their way through the field, where they can locate clues to uncover a secret word hidden within the maze. What’s more, facts about the incredible work carried out by Devon Air Ambulance can also be found as you walk around, so you’ll be sure to learn a thing or two!
To visit the Maize Maze, please visit the Darts Farm Shop and collect a map at the tills. The maze will be open to the public until early October. For more information, please contact Darts Farm on 01392 878209.
DAA Fundraising Director Caroline Creer said "We are extremely grateful to Darts Farm for choosing to support Devon Air Ambulance this summer with their Maize Maze. We are excited to be celebrating 25 years of our service which has only been made possible due to the fantastic support we receive from the friends of Devon and we will be holding our 25th celebration at Darts Farm on the 9th September. We hope lots of children enjoy the Maize Maze this summer whilst learning about Devon Air Ambulance."
This year DAA celebrate 25 years of service, this has only been made possible due to the fantastic support DAA receives from the people, businesses and communities of Devon. It costs £5.5million every year to keep Devon’s Air Ambulances flying and they are extremely proud to be independent of Government and National Lottery Funding; this safeguards the service for the long-term and ensures they can deliver what the people of Devon tell them they want from their Air Ambulance.
