Four brothers will walk 200 miles for Devon Air Ambulance in memory of their brother

Brothers Osian, Kieran (aka Mouse) and Connor Rapier, along with their brother-in-law Oli Handson, will walk from Land’s End to the home of their late brother Alun, in the small Dartmoor Village of Lustleigh, to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance (DAA).

The walk of almost 200 miles will take in 160 miles of the South West Coast Path from Land’s End to Plymouth before the final push via the Erme-Plym trail and Two Moors Way to Lustleigh Village. The challenge will take the brothers 14 days to complete, walking an average of 14 miles a day between the 13th-26th May.

In 2004 twelve-year-old Alun sadly passed away when he lost his brave fight against cancer. The brothers wanted to do something positive in memory of their beloved brother and chose Devon Air Ambulance as a fitting charity to support with their challenge.

Oli Handson said “this will be a tough but brilliant experience for the four of us to share. To be doing it in memory of our late brother Alun and raising money for such a great charity at the same time will make it extra special…We chose a challenge to raise funds for a charity that provides a vital lifeline for those in rural communities.”

DAA Fundraising Director Caroline Creer commented “We are so grateful to the brothers for choosing to support Devon Air Ambulance. It’s wonderful that they can create something so positive out of what was clearly a very sad family loss. We would like to wish them the best of luck on their challenge, no doubt it will be tough but we hope they have a great adventure along the way.”
