Earlier this year n-ergy’s regional team in the South West nominated Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) to be one of n-ergy’s three selected charities of the year for 2016/17.
n-ergy delivers over 3,000 vocational and employability programmes annually to both offenders and ex-offenders in prisons across England and Wales and over the last 9 years have built a reputation as specialists within the offender reform sector. The South West regional team chose to vote for Devon Air Ambulance after Area Manager, Wendy Doodson, had personal experience of the service when her fiancé was airlifted twice.
Wendy Doodson at n-ergy said, “We were privileged to receive a visit from Tracy Owen, Fundraising Manager, at our November Team Meeting. The session was very interesting and a real eye opener for the team in respect of the awesome work that DAA are doing.”
To kick start their support n-ergy has established a regular monthly corporate donation and are kicking off their regional fundraising in the South West with a Jolly Christmas Jumper Day and raffle.
Donna Turner-Kot, Chief Executive at n-ergy, said, “We are passionate about supporting charitable causes and in particular, ones that will benefit the wider community. Therefore, I am absolutely thrilled that Devon Air Ambulance is one of three “charities of the year” we are supporting in 2016/17, chosen by our employees in the South West Region and especially in view of Wendy’s own personal experience. We are now looking forward to getting involved with as many fundraising activities as we possibly can over the next few months to support DAA and the incredible work it carries out in the local area, saving hundreds of lives each year.”
Fundraising Manager Tracy Owen added “We are delighted to welcome n-ergy on board and are so grateful for them having chosen to support DAA, we look forward to working with them and supporting them during their fundraising.”
