50 Classic Cars tour Plympton to Yelverton in support of Devon Air Ambulance

A procession of more than 50 classic cars will tour a 100 mile route from Plympton to Yelverton in support of Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) on Sunday 18th September.

Organised by the Tamar Valley MG Owners Club, the ‘People & Places’ Classic Car Run 2016 is free for spectators and is a major event for the classic car calendar with a fantastic selection of MGs and other classics in attendance.

The cars will assemble at Finla Coffee, Ridgeway in Plympton, from 8am and the first car will be flagged away to start the procession at 9am. The route will tour Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley and the cars will arrive at the Lakeside Cafe & Visitors Centre at Roadford at approximately 11:30 for a lunch stop, setting off again at 2pm to dip into Cornwall before finishing at the Moorland Garden Hotel, Yelverton, from approximately 3:30 and staying until 5pm.

Event organiser Adrian Nursey said “Following a very interesting talk at one of our monthly meetings from Devon Air Ambulance we decided that the proceeds from our bi-annual club run event should be split between both Devon Air Ambulance and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust as the Tamar Valley MG Owners Club draws its members from both West Devon and East Cornwall. We are looking forward to a great day out with our fellow classic car enthusiasts.”

Devon Air Ambulance Fundraising Director Caroline Creer added “We would like to thank the Tamar Valley MG Owners Club for choosing to support Devon Air Ambulance, we are so pleased they were inspired to do so after receiving one of our talks; we offer talks to clubs and organisations all over the county and this demonstrates the affect that our talks have and the benefits they achieve. Although we are a separate charity to CAAT we have a great relationship with our counterparts and we all provide a vital service; there are no county lines in the sky and we fly into Cornwall when needed.”
