Exeter’s Greenbow Running Club will take on a Devon Coast to Coast run from Westward Ho! to Dawlish Warren on 25th June 2016 in support of Devon Air Ambulance. The event will see the runners complete a 52 mile route through stunning Devon.
20 runners will take part in a relay, with five set of runners each covering 10.4miles and a minimum of 2 runners running at any time. The Greenbow Running Club is seeking to secure corporate sponsorship from local businesses for each of the five sections; the businesses that sponsor the run will be given the chance to name the section of the run they sponsor.
Greenbow Running club was founded by Greg Mimms in October 2013 and now consists of 30 runners who meet weekly at Exeter Quay; they also organise the Land and Sand Run in Exmouth, a 5K run that takes place on the footpath and beach of Exmouth seafront.
Greg Mimms stated “We are running across our county to raise money for the iconic Devon Air Ambulance. We enjoy running in Devon, with the great coastal paths and moorland, and Devon Air Ambulance is absolutely vital for rescues in hard to access and remote places.”
Devon Air Ambulance’s Fundraising Director Caroline Creer said “We are so grateful that the Greenbow Running Club has chosen to support us with this brilliant challenge. Our two helicopters provide a service for all of Devon’s local communities and support from community groups such as Greenbow Running Club is so important to us, enabling us to continue improving our service for all. We would like to wish them the best of luck with their training and for the day itself.”
If your business would like to sponsor a 10.4mile section of the Devon Coast to Coast Run please email Greg.
