A wide variety of vintage tractors will be on display at the Colyton Peace Memorial Playing Fields on Monday 30th May and visitors are invited to attend from 9am. Crowds will gather to line the streets to watch the procession of 120 vintage tractors as they set off at 10:30am to journey along the Jurassic Coast, passing through Seaton town centre before arriving at their final destination of Branscombe at approximately 2pm.
Visitors are encouraged to attend the finish point at Branscombe Village Hall to watch the finale and awards ceremony; tractors will be entered into four categories, including Best Looking Tractor, Best Restored Tractor, Best pre-1960 Tractor and Best Massey/Ferguson, with winners presented with cups.
Zoe Parsons, secretary of the Colyton Vintage Tractor Run Oganisation, stated “Last year over £3000 was raised for MacMillan Cancer Support and the committee hope to achieve a similar result this year for our chosen charities, Devon Air Ambulance and Devon Freewheelers.”
Devon Freewheelers are a group of advanced riders who volunteer their time, skills and expertise to provide an out of hours emergency response courier service to the NHS; transporting crucial items including blood platelets for transfusion, human organs for transplant and urgent or emergency medication between hospitals and pharmacies. All funds raised will be equally donated to Devon Air Ambulance and Devon Freewheelers.
Devon Air Ambulance Fundraising Director Caroline Creer said “The Colyton Vintage Tractor Run has raised a significant amount of funds for Devon Air Ambulance in the past and we are so grateful that they have chosen to support us again this year. It’s a great event and and we really hope it gets a great turn out.”
There is no entry fee for this event. Colyton Peace Memorial Fields are situated at Coly Road, Colyton EX24 6PU.
