This month Marks and Spencer Simply Food at Derriford Hospital celebrate their first year of business during which time they have raised over £700 for Devon Air Ambulance.
Devon Air Ambulance was chosen as their Charity of the Year at time of opening and as such have had collection boxes present in the shop to encourage donations from staff and customers.
The positioning of Marks and Spencer Simply Food within the foyer of Derriford Hospital made Devon Air Ambulance a fitting choice for their Charity of the Year. Devon Air Ambulance airlift patients from all over the county and convey them to the hospital most suited to the patients needs, with trauma patients transported direct to Derriford Hospital.
A total of £789.46 has been raised which will enable Devon Air Ambulance to continue improving their service. Devon Air Ambulance are extremely grateful to Marks and Spencer Simply Food of Derriford Hospital for their support during the past year and would like to thank all of the staff and customers who donated.
Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director at Devon Air Ambulance stated “We would like to thank the team at Marks and Spencer of Derriford Hospital and all of their customers who have donated. The support from Devon’s local communities is vital to enable us to keep our two helicopters flying as we continue to extend and improve our service.”
