A market leading machinery manufacturer has teamed up with Devon Air Ambulance Trust to launch ‘Working Safely, Saving Lives’ – a campaign that aims to raise £250,000 for UK air ambulance charities whilst also promoting the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
Agriculture and construction are two of the most dangerous and hazardous industries in terms of fatal accidents and serious injuries. For agricultural or construction workers who could have a life threatening accident, the critical service and speed the air ambulance provides can be their only hope of survival.
Dave Roberts, Kubota UK’s Managing Director, said: “Devon Air Ambulance Trust provides an essential service in all walks of life, but we have specifically chosen this worthy cause because a high proportion of air ambulance rescue missions carried out every year are related to agriculture and construction incidents, making it extremely close to our hearts.
“The ‘Working Safely, Saving Lives’ initiative is designed to raise as much money as we can. With the support of our dealer and end-user customers, industry bodies and the general public, we hope to reach our target of raising £250,000 over the next 12 months but also raise awareness of safe working practices, ultimately helping to save even more lives.”
“We are extremely proud to be launching this campaign and hope people get behind it and help us make a real difference!”
Heléna Holt, Chief Executive of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Kubota through the Association of Air Ambulances. We are grateful that they are not only raising funds for us but helping us to raise awareness to the agricultural community which we serve on a regular basis.”
