This event has now passed, but keep an eye on our events page for the latest news on Dragon Boat racing in Exeter.
Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) is set to hold its second Dragon Boat Festival on the River Exe on Sunday 27 September. After such a fantastic maiden voyage last year, it has now truly earned a place in the Charity’s annual calendar.
DAAT Fundraising Director Caroline Creer said: “Our first Dragon Boat Festival last year was a great success and we know many of last year’s teams are looking forward to taking on the dragon again! A few of the teams from last year are already challenging each other to do better!”
She added “We are hoping to attract even more teams this year; it could be teams of businesses or groups of friends – 16 team members are needed per boat. We are hoping that smaller will team up with neighbours or suppliers, get their families involved and join in. It requires no previous experience and caters for all abilities.”
There are two options on how you can enter. Team members can pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £60 per person (which includes boat hire) or a business/organisation can sponsor the boat at £300 and then each team member will need to raise a minimum of £40.
