The always lively Pots Rodeo is back for another year hosted by Exeter University Canoe Club (EUCC) in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust. This white-water paddling competition will be held on 25th October at The Mill on the Exe.
The competition consists of two phases: The Rodeo, where paddlers have the opportunity to showcase their paddling skills and prowess, performing tricks on a standing wave, and the Boater-Exe, which is a head to head race through features, with the aim to be the first to cross the finish. Various rounds will be held to suit ability, and then a final will determine who is truly at the top of the competition. There will be prizes for all categories.
If taking to the water isn’t your forte, the event also encourages spectators to enjoy refreshments at The Mill while watching the excitement.
The event donates all proceeds to Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Caroline Creer, Director of Fundraising at the Charity, says, “We are looking forward to another great year of Pots Rodeo. EUCC continue to be fantastic supporters, and we wish all of the participants the best of luck on the day”.
The competition is supported by AS Watersports, Zet Kayaks, The Mill on the Exe, Yak/Crewsaver and Fluid Skills.
Hamish Duncan, EUCC Competitions Secretary and Pots Rodeo Organiser, says, “We are hugely looking forward to this years’ Pots Rodeo. It’s a fantastic day of paddling and great opportunity to meet and socialise with other paddlers. It’s all in aid of a fantastic cause, who go a long way to keep people safe outdoors…so head down to The Mill on the Exe and getting paddling, or grab a pint and a bite to eat from indoors and watch the action unfold”.
Registration is at 10am. For more information visit Facebook.com/PotsRodeo
