Devon Air Ambulance Charity seeks new donations for burgled shop

Staff at Devon Air Ambulance Trust were left distressed and angry after the charity’s retail shop in Cowick Street, Exeter, was burgled on Monday evening.

Thieves got away with a collection box having caused significant damage to the premises including smashing the shop window.

Martin Bell, Retail Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “I was extremely distressed and angry to receive a telephone call to advise me that our shop in Cowick Street, St Thomas, Exeter was broken into over-night on Monday 27 October.

Commodore's Charity Evening

Totnes Boating Association held their annual Commodore’s Charity Night on 19th September in aid of their chosen charity of the year, Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT). The evening took place in the clubhouse on Steamer Quay Road in Totnes, and was a lively occasion with a charity auction as the main event.

Gifts and pledges from the club’s members were auctioned by club member and DAAT paramedic Adrian Parker. Attendees cited Adrian’s enthusiasm in his auctioneer role as the motivation to bid and maximise funds raised. In total, £1620 were raised which was a record for the event.

There is much excitement in Fore Street, Totnes, as Devon Air Ambulance Trust prepares to open their 15th shop!

A Runner's Evening

On the evening of 7 October, Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) and Tozers Solicitors LLP got together some of their Great West Run 2014 participants for a meet and greet at DAAT’s Exeter Airbase. Tozers are sponsoring this year’s event and DAAT are the local Charity partner.  Tozers runners are also supporting DAAT as part of larger fundraising efforts as their Charity of the Year.

DAAT organised the evening to give the runners an opportunity to learn more about the service they are supporting and to meet their fellow teammates before race day.

Successful day for Dragons on the Exe - 2014

Devon Air Ambulance Trust was delighted to host their first Dragon Boat Festival on the River Exe on Saturday 27 September with 9 teams competing to be become top dragon!

Businesses/teams taking part were Alcoa, Crisp Professional Development, Francis Clark, The Old Guys, RD&E Hospital (Wonford, Exeter) and South West Highways.

Pots Rodeo is Back Again!

The always lively Pots Rodeo is back for another year hosted by Exeter University Canoe Club (EUCC) in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust. This white-water paddling competition will be held on 25th October at The Mill on the Exe.

The competition consists of two phases: The Rodeo, where paddlers have the opportunity to showcase their paddling skills and prowess, performing tricks on a standing wave, and the Boater-Exe, which is a head to head race through features, with the aim to be the first to cross the finish.
