Flying Colours Art Exhibition Gives Back to the Community
The Flying Colours Art Group is holding a large exhibition of paintings with proceeds in part going to Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. Flying Colours consists of three groups of artists from Totnes, Bishopsteignton and Gorran Haven led by Totnes artist and tutor Gayan Oliver.
The art exhibition which promises an exquisite selection of paintings will take place from Tuesday 27 May through Sunday 8 June from 10am to 5pm daily at the picturesque Spanish Barn at Torre Abbey in Torquay. Admission is free.
Organiser Elaine Best says, “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to support such an important local cause especially as two of our members have had to use the service”.
Flying Colours has a personal connection to Devon Air Ambulance Trust, with artist Jenni Evans (pictured). She had to be transported from Dartmoor to the R D and E Hospital, Wonford in Exeter in 2003 after a serious riding accident and is thankful for the services she was provided.
Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, says, “We would like to thank the Flying Colours Art Group for raising funds for the Charity, especially given Jenni’s story. We encourage anyone who enjoys the artistic pursuits to go along and acquire some new artwork”.
