Well it’s taken us a while, but at last we have our new blog up and running. We hope that you will find it enjoyable and informative to read.
This is a very short first blog post, but we’ll be doing one blog a week. We want it to tell you about things that you want to know as well.
So if you have a question or idea for future blogs why not post them?
For the first time this year we have offered work experience placements in our offices, and they have truly proved to be valuable, as it’s our busiest time of the year. So we thought that we would get our first two to write about their experiences. This is what they put together…
Our time at the Devon Air Ambulance Trust has been a unique, exciting and valuable experience. We have learnt that there is much more behind the scenes with this trust than we originally expected.
For example, we have worked in two different charity shops throughout our stay at the Devon Air Ambulance. We have also done logistics such as a stock count of merchandise.
They have also allowed us to attend some courses along the way, such as “social media” course and “first aid in the work place”. Also we have had an introduction to how a business or charity like the Devon Air Ambulance Trust is conducted. To sum it all up, the best part of the two weeks has to be experience first-hand the helicopter in action for a publicised cheque presentation at the airbase.
The hard work and dedication portrayed by the people that are involved with the trust is what makes it so successful. From the pilots and the paramedics to logistics behind the scenes, it has been a pleasure to have this work experience with the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
In fact we had lots of extra help whilst Alex and George were with us as Jemima joined us from Bristol University, and Otillia is with us on a long work placement from the local language school, all the way from Romania!
