Following the success of the 2018 Glad rags and Gumboots fundraiser in support of Devon Air Ambulance, organisers are bringing back the popular Dartmouth event for a second year, this time with even bigger ambitions to raise funds for their nominated charity.

Event organisers are delighted to host the second annual fundraiser.

The music

Once more the evening will be abuzz with music. Although the dancing will take place in a barn, barn dancing is not a requirement - anything goes! What's more, as no one will be wearing heels there's be no reason not to hit the dance floor!

The dress code

Glad rags are whatever items help you to feel glad, but ball gowns are not essential and smart/casual dress is fine - but of course wellies are a lot easier going on the enthusiastic barn-dancer than the usual party goer's accessories..

The food

Guests can expect to choose from a vegetarian and meat course, and there will be a cheese board and a glass of wine is included in the price.

The auction

Guests will also have the chance to bid on a variety of donated items in a charity auction delivered by Farmers Guardian 2018 Auctioneer of the Year, Russell Steer of Kivells in Exeter. Items include:

  • Devon Air Ambulance Airfield - a tour for 4 people
  • A week’s stay at a Lake District Holiday Home near Ullswater
  • A ride in an Alvis 12/50 SD Sports Car
  • Exeter Chiefs signed stash
  • Hamper of Homemade preserves and foods
  • Pool Cue signed by professional players
  • Miscellaneous smaller items
  • And more - yet to be announced!

The location

The Glad Rags and Gum Boots dance is held in a Dartmouth agricultural barn in Bowden, which is free of evidence of animals and ready for party use!
