We very seldom know when the charity is to receive a legacy donation in advance of someone's death, and we rarely hear about the unique stories behind our legacy donors' decision to remember us in their will.

In general, legacy donations arrive in the post, sometimes even years after a donor's passing once their estate has been settled. While it is always a lovely and much-welcome gift, often we feel we would like to thank those who leave such gifts to us in advance.

Sometimes our legacy donors are those who have been helped by the charity, or whose friends, colleagues or family members have been impacted by the service. In this way, and thanks to our hundreds of volunteers and supporters, Devon Air Ambulance is very much a charity by and for the people of Devon.

Due to patient confidentiality, we only hear from around 15% of our patients, so we are always very grateful to those who share their stories with us. Click below to read more about just a handful of those patients we have supported over the years, and it is to a large extent thanks to our legacy donors that we have been able to help them.
