Harvey Gibbons Story
Harvey Gibbons, aged 12, was out playing with friends on the cliffs in Beer. He had been throwing stones into the sea, lost his footing and fell.
His friends were to quick to react. Whilst one dialled 999, another rushed to get his mum and dad.
The only available and safe landing site was a jetty, which is just 10 feet wide.
Harvey was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, Wonford, Exeter.
After five hours at hospital, during which Harvey was x-rayed severfal times, he was allowed home.
Amazingly Harvey did not break a single bone. he was obviously sore, bruised and had trouble sleeping, but other than that he was fine.
Harvey's Dad is the owner of BP garage Tower Services on the outskirts of Seaton and has always been a keen supporter of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Since Harvey's accident they have been fundraising at the garage. Harvey is also planning to do a sponsored bike ride when fully recovered.
