Corporate
Devon businesses make a difference
The Devon Air Ambulances fly on behalf of the people of Devon and all those who visit this beautiful county and this includes the business community.
Because DAAT relies entirely on public donations, the corporate sector can also make a huge contribution by fundraising on behalf of DAAT – and there are many ways of doing it whilst having a lot of fun, team-building and contributing to a businesses’ corporate and social responsibility programmes.
Here are just some ideas but to find out more, contact Caroline Creer on 01392 466666.
Charity of the Year
If your business or your staff choose a charity of the year why not suggest us? One such company currently supporting us for the second year running is Miller Countrywide. Pictured far right is the charity's Fundraising Director presenting an award to the branch which won Miller Countrywide's Charity Challenge for their first year of support.
Sponsor a campaign
From time to time DAAT needs to raise funds for a specific piece of equipment and this can be exclusively sponsored by a single business.
Payroll Giving
Payroll giving is a simple, tax effective way to give the charity direct from your pay
It works by authorising your employer to deduct regular charitable donations from your pay
The deductions are done before you pay tax, meaning you get tax relief included in your donation at your top rate of tax
Further details for both employees and employers can be found on the following Website – www.payrollgivinggrants.org.uk but in the meantime, please find below a brief outline of how it can help – which we hope will encourage you to make it a real option.
What is Payroll Giving and how does it work?
Payroll Giving is a simple, tax effective way to give to charity direct from your pay. It works by authorising your employer to deduct regular charitable donations from your pay.
Benefits
For You:–
The agreed deductions your employer makes are done before you pay tax, which means you get tax relief included in your donation at your top rate of tax. It is simple and the chart below outlines the result to charity.
| You Give | Costs You @ 22% Tax Payer | Actual cost to employee @ 40% tax |
|---|---|---|
| £1.00 | £0.78 | £0.60 |
| £5.00 | £3.90 | £3.00 |
| £10.00 | £7.80 | £6.00 |
For example, if you pay tax at the basic rate it will only cost you £3.90 to donate £5.00 to us.
Make a one off or regular donation
Donations to charity bring tax relief.
Hold a fundraising day
Hold a day when staff make a contribution for wearing casual clothing, fancy dress etc
Attend a DAAT corporate events
Every year we hold a charity ball and a golf day. It’s a great way to support the charity. Why not treat your customers or encourage your management and staff to attend?
Publicity
DAAT has a very high press profile and we try to support our business partners through press activity, news stories and events diary on this website and through our own quarterly magazine, Helipad.
For more information on publicity opportunities, contact Sarah Burden on 01392 466666 or mail s.burden@daat.org
