Sue wins a new car

Added on: 2 November 2010

Commuting between her home in South Molton and her business in Torquay will now be a whole lot easier for Sue Timmins, winner of a brand new Fiat 500 in the Grand Summer Prize Draw in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust.  Sue, who runs Central Perks Coffee House in Union Street, Torquay, was overjoyed to hear that she held the winning ticket for the trendy and economical bright red car.  “I was shocked when I received the phone call to say that I had won the car.  In fact I didn’t believe it straight away, and had to phone the Trust back to confirm it, but I am thrilled.  I just can’t believe it.  It’s like a dream come true,” she exclaimed.

Peter Vosper of Vospers was on hand to present the car and hand over the keys to Sue at the Exeter Airbase of Devon’s Air Ambulance.  Helena Holt, Chief Executive of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, said ‘The charity is proud to have worked once again in partnership with Peter Vosper and all at Vospers with regard to this fantastic prize.   Over £70,000 was generated by the sale of tickets and related donations, and this would not have been possible without Vosper’s support, for which we are truly grateful.”

The second prize, a luxury break for six people in the prestigious and glorious Bovey Castle, went to Raymond Foulston of Swansea.  Raymond was also amazed and delighted to learn of his win, worth in excess of £2,000, and is looking forward to his weekend away.  “I have been on their website; it’s such a beautiful location, and I am sure we will all have a fantastic time.”   Helena Holt added, “We would also like to add our thanks to Bovey Castle for their generosity.  Both of our corporate supporters, and indeed everyone who has bought a ticket should be extremely proud to know that they have helped to raise over £70,000!’

Third prize of £100 went to Claire Leahy of Winkleigh, who said,   “The Devon Air Ambulance is an essential part of the community which hopefully none of us will need, but it is reassuring to know that if we do, it’s there for us all.’

Helena Holt added, “We would like to congratulate all our winners and thank them for taking part in our Grand Summer Draw.”
