On yer motorbike for Devon's Air Ambulance

Calling all learner motorcyclists.  Why not take part in our learner ride and be part of a fantastic day!

Entry is just £5 per bike (cash only) which includes a t-shirt and badge.  Entries on the day only and the event will be starting at Giant Furniture Centre, Wolborough St, Newton Abbot.  Register from 10am.  You will join the last stage of the main run as well.

The Devon Air Ambulance Trust is preparing for its annual motorcycle ride out, which has proved a great success with motorcycle enthusiasts across Devon, and further afield! To be diverted to our events page click here.

The Trust’s 5th annual ride out takes place on Sunday 11th July 2010. Riders can choose from three different start points:-

Atlantic Village, Bideford
Mole Valley Farmers, Cullompton
Coypool Park & Ride, Plympton

All routes join together in Moretonhampstead and finish at Paignton Green, having travelled through 60 miles of glorious Devon countryside.

At Paignton Green there will be live music from fantastic local group 'Thick as Thieves', with support from ‘Grumpy Old Gits’, together with many trade stands and exhibits plus great refreshments. There will also be a raffle, together with an opportunity to buy a ticket for the charity’s summer draw, to win a fantastic Fiat 500.

To take part register at your chosen start point from 8.30am.  The ride-out start will be staggered with the first bikes going off from 10.15 am.

Entry is on the day only, however if bikers wish to save time at registration, an entry form can be downloaded here, completed in advance and presented at registration on the day or a form can be requested for posting by telephoning  01392 466666.

Entry is by £10 donation per bike (cash only please),  which includes a commemorative t-shirt and pin badge.  Additional t-shirts and badges will be available to buy subject to availability.

Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust said, ‘All the bikes will be automatically entered into the Best in Show competition, but we also have other showing classes including Best British Bike,  Best Classic Bike, and Best Modern Bike!  Please come along and support this event, and please tell all your biking friends and family.  If you feel you could display a poster click here to download or give us a ring and we will post to you.  Simply ring us on 01392 466666.’

She added ‘This event just wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors, Devon based solicitors Veitch Penny, together with Purple promotional merchandise of Exeter.  Plymouth City Council, the Management of Atlantic Village, Bideford, Mole Valley Farmers, Cullompton, Great Furniture Centre, Newton Abbot and Torbay District Council have also played crucial parts in ensuring this event happens.’
