New Trustees for Air Ambulance Charity
Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) has announced the appointment of three new members of the Board of Trustees.
David Charlesworth, a partner with law firm Michelmores, Paul Persey a director of clothing wholesalers Pencarrie Limited and Philip Roberts owner of Exeter Quayside café business Mangos, all became Trustees on Wednesday 15th July.
Each will serve for a period of three years with a maximum tender of six years.
DAAT Chief Executive, Heléna Holt, said: “Being a Trustee of a charity has major responsibilities and duties of care.
“They ensure the charity is managed in accordance to the law and that we comply with all rules and regulations established by the Charity Commission. They also oversee the charity’s financial status ensuring it remains solvent and that the accounts are administered and reported correctly.
“Trustees are also charged with exercising their own personal skills and experiences to advise the executive team and seeing that the charity is working efficiently and well run.
“David, Paul and Phil join us at a time when the recession has meant that all charities must redouble their fundraising efforts. It is also a time when DAAT is developing new strategic plans with the establishment of a second purpose built airbase for our North Devon operation alongside the aim of the outright purchase of our second helicopter
“With this in mind, we are all delighted to welcome three highly motivated and committed individuals to the Board of Trustees whose skills and experiences I am sure will make a considerable contribution to the work of Devon Air Ambulance Trust going forward.”
