Extinguishing support from Firewatch

Added on: 6 May 2011

FirewatchSupport for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust comes in many forms; donations, legacies, fundraising activities, sponsorship and the in-house lottery among others.  Goods and services are also hugely appreciated and these often come from businesses in the corporate sector.

One such service has been offered by Firewatch South West and is that of ensuring all the fire extinguishers in place in Devon Air Ambulance Trust offices and charity shops throughout the county are at the required standards.

Roy Blunt, Extinguisher Division Manager for Firewatch South West, said “When supporting charities we look at how best we can help them.  As well as organising fundraising activities throughout the year, including a Karting Evening and a corporate Golf Day, we are happy to use our expertise in the fire extinguisher field to help keep their business safe.  Servicing their extinguishers on a regular basis gives staff and customers at Devon Air Ambulance Trust peace of mind and is something we are really happy to do to help.”

Chrissie Peel, Devon Air Ambulance Trust’s Retail Manager, added “We are really grateful to Roy and all at Firewatch.  Having to comply with Health & Safety regulations is all part of our business and knowing that Firewatch are on hand to help is really reassuring.  By servicing our extinguishers as part of their support for Devon Air Ambulance Trust ensures that donations made by the public go that little bit further to help keep our helicopters flying.”
