Exmouth Rotary Walk or Ride

Date: Sunday, 29th April 2012Time: 8:30 am

Location: Starting from Bicton College

The Rotary Club of Exmouth and District offer the chance to get out and about in the beautiful Devon countryside, either on foot or by cycle, whilst raising sponsorship funds for Devon Air Ambulance Trust (or, indeed, the charity of your choice).  Participants must make a £5 donation to cover their costs but all further sponsorship money will be for your chosen charity.

The tenth annual “ Walk or Ride!”  starts from Bicton College, East Devon, (on the B3178 between Budleigh Salterton and Colaton Raleigh) between 8.30am and 1.00pm. Just turn up at Bicton College at any time between 8.30am and 1.00pm to register for the 5 or 8 mile walk or the 14 mile cycle route, or between 8.30 and noon for the 12 mile walk, then set out walking or cycling at your own pace and enjoy the day in East Devon’s stunning Raleigh country. Please, do pre-register if you are able  -  it will be a great help to The Rotary and save ‘sign-in’ delays on the day. Entry Forms, sponsorship forms, routes and maps may be down loaded from the webpage at  www.exmouthrotaryclub.co.uk  Alternatively, please phone 01395 270766.

The walks and  largely off-road cycle ride include Woodbury Common, the picturesque villages of Colaton Raleigh, Otterton and East Budleigh.  The walks begin with the lovely College Arboretum and take in the River Otter and Jurassic Coast line.  Why not enjoy a picnic along the way or take advantage of one of the many catering establishments en route?  All the paths are way-marked and marshalled and you will be welcomed back at Bicton with a welcome cup of tea, coffee or squash and cake.
